Mushroom Culture Training

Twenty beneficiaries from Lotwa, Kaile, Sulmi & Sijhua villages were selected for mushroom culture training conducted with the help of a local NGO named Neo Human Foundation. This 45 days training was organised on 10th September, 2011 at Sijhua High School, Ichak, Hazaribag. The main objective of the training was to provide self employment opportunity for livelihood security of the villagers living inside and on the periphery of the Hazaribag Wildlife sanctuary thereby reducing biotic pressure on the sanctuary which is a rich depository of biodiversity. The training was aimed at conservation of biodiversity in and around Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary.

The villagers were trained for the cultivation of Oyster, Milky & Button mushroom. The training covered not only the production of mushroom but also it’s marketing. During the training period itself beneficiaries produced and sold 40 Kg. mushrooms in the market which is an achievement of the project intervention. Now the beneficiaries are getting more demand from the markets.

The training programme was inaugurated by Shri Ravindra Nath Mishra, Divisional Forest Officer, Wildlife Division, Hazaribag. State Project Unit, Jharkhand team was also present during the training programme.

Pig Rearing Training

Thirteen farmers from Bhelwara panchayat, Hazaribag were selected for imparting training in prig rearing. The training was organized at Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi. Birsa Agricultural University is one of the premier institutions for the trainings in animal husbandry. It was an eight days residential training programme held at the campus of BAU from 15th – 22nd September, 2011.

On successful completion of the training certificates were awarded by the university to the beneficiaries. This certificate helps the beneficiaries in getting loan for pig rearing from various financial institutions.

Making of candle, soap and detergent powder

Fifty female participants were selected from Kuttipisi and Saraiya panchayats of Hazaribag district for two days training on making of different kinds of candle, soap and detergent powder. The training was organized at Holycorss Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hazaribag. The objective of the training is to empower the village women in livelihood generation.

This training was organized from 3rd – 6th September, 2012 for the group of 25 each. On successful completion of the training certificates were awarded by the institution to the beneficiaries.
