MESSAGE

Dear All,

Biological diversity is one of the pillars of modern life. It provides millions of people with livelihood, helps ensure food security and it is rich resources for both traditional medicines and modern pharmaceuticals. Through State Biodiversity Board and Strategic Action plan, priority has already been set to ensuring the sustainable development through environmental conservation as one of three key guideline principals of mandate of Jharkhand Biodiversity Board. By striking a balance between developments and caring for the environment, we should aim to make Jharkhand, one of the most livable places in this part of the world, given its strategic location, natural resources, diverse cultural offerings, heritage and clean environment.

The Government, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and each and every individual has an important role to play in conservation of biodiversity. I sincerely believe that the Board, through its activities will create a synergy of expertise in different fields under one umbrella to dwell upon the issue of conservation of Biodiversity in the state of Jharkhand.

I hope that Jharkhand Biodiversity Board would make a success of achieving the desired goals.
